I was scared that, at 18 months, we were never going to get any sleep and that we’d gotten ourselves into an unfixable mess. If I’m honest, I was too ashamed to admit to the troubles, so quietly bought the sleep programme and hoped for the best. All my friends’ babies were sleeping through the night so I just couldn’t understand where we were going wrong.
